Your Pregnancy Week-by-Week - 12 Weeks Pregnant

12 Weeks Pregnant
Baby has doubled in size
Your baby is around the size of a lime at this stage, weighing a full half-ounce and measuring 2 to 214 inches from crown to rump.

It's hard to imagine — especially because you're probably barely recognizable at this point — but your baby has grown by more than a third in size in the last three weeks.
12 weeks pregnant is how many months?
You're in the third month of your pregnancy if you're 12 weeks pregnant. There are just 6 months left!
Baby’s digestive system begins working
This week is a watershed moment for your son. Most of the baby's systems are completely developed at 12 weeks pregnant, meaning the Herculean task of forming new body constructs is nearing an end — but there's still plenty of maturing to do.
The repair process begins now, during which your fetus' mechanisms continue to develop for the next 28 weeks and the organs begin to function. For starters, the fetal digestive system is starting to stretch its muscles — practically — as it begins to practice contraction motions, an ability your little peanut will use to drive food across the digestive tract after birth.
The bone marrow is hard at work producing white blood cells, which will one day aid your baby in fighting infection until she's out of your safe haven and into a normal play party. And the pituitary gland, located at the base of the brain, has begun releasing hormones that will enable her to have children in a few decades.
Fetal heartbeat
If you haven't already, you'll more likely hear your baby's fetal heartbeat at this month's checkup — a sound that will make your heart pound with delight!

The end of some pregnancy symptoms
Your uterus, which is now around the size of a big grapefruit, starts to move from the bottom of your pelvis to a front-and-center location in your abdomen when you approach the end of your first trimester.
If you're lucky, this will put an end to one of the most troublesome early pregnancy symptoms: the need to urinate continuously.

Many of the other early pregnancy signs, such as nausea, super tender breasts and nipples, food aversions, and exhaustion, are also expected to fade now that you're in the second trimester.
Your 12 weeks pregnant belly
At 12 weeks, the baby bump may be more noticeable and even visible to others. However, though your clothes might be getting a little tighter, you are unlikely to have a visibly pregnant belly at this stage. You may seem to have gained a little weight in the centre, or you may not appear to be different from anyone else at all.
Whatever the case might be, remember that your 12-week-old belly is perfectly normal, whether it's big, thin, or barely noticeable. The size and appearance of the baby bump differ considerably based on the woman's size and shape, as well as whether this is her first or second birth.
So don't be concerned if your bump at 12 weeks doesn't resemble that of your pregnant friend at the same point. Both bumps are lovely! If you haven't yet begun to demonstrate, don't worry; if you have already begun to show, that's good as well. If you have any questions, you should still speak with your doctor.
Low sex drive
Your best friend claims that being pregnant has increased her libido significantly, but you aren't getting any hotter. What's up with your lack of sexual desire?
Hormones affect every woman differently, leading some to experience an increase in sex desire while others experience a decline. Pregnancy complications may also get in the way of having fun — after all, it's tough to get in the mood when you're sick, exhausted, or constipated (or all of the above!).
Rest assured that everything you're seeing is perfectly natural. Simply remain emotionally attached to your husband, and keep in mind that certain women's sex drives fluctuate through pregnancy. As a result, you could be in for a warm spell soon.
